Also curious about the advantages/disadvantages of each too… we have a traditional window cleaner right now but they can’t do the window above the conservatory

We've never had a window cleaner.
Just me leaning dangerously out of the bedroom window with a wet terrys towelling cloth (from sons nappy box 26 yrs ago) tied to a yard brush with an elastic band , followed by a dry Terrys tied around the brush .
Downstairs done with terrys and glass cleaner.

Or inward-opening windows, so you can also have them ajar with the shutters closed, as well as avoiding the awkwardness of cleaning them from outside.

But, you already lost the argument in the UK by saying the first bit...

Bucket and newspaper actually for me. Scrunched up newspaper absorbs and removes the smears very well. Try it!
