What's happening to old Dunelm store on Queens Retail Park?

Couldn't see another thread about it, apologies if there is one.

Went up to Hobby craft today and the old Dunelm store was demolished, whole of the front was off. Any one know what store is going in there?

They usually knock them down and build the newer style frontage like they have done for most of the rest of the units - guess they will gradually do the others as their leases run out. Don't know whats going there though??

Are they taking the whole unit though? As looking at the size of the other units, you could easily fit 2 or 3 units into that space.

Tesco had two distinct shops, before the Riverside store was built - Food was where Superdrug is now and Home'n'Wear was in Market Street.

I reckon the ASDA Living (Home) store in Telford is getting on for the size of the old Dunelm store

yeah, you only need to look at the website to see how much more furniture etc ti could house. When were were in Liverpool there was a dedicated George at Asda clothes shop...

Seems strange as they've only just had a move round in the main store to incorporate more At Home stuff.

Get you more used to it, so when they move it you'll visit the new store (whilst also marvelling at all the new food retail space at the main store)?

I think the next closest George/ASDA Living would be the one off the Walsall ring road.

I don't think they will get rid of the home bit in the main food asda - that would make no sense - but that's very geared towards impulse / emergency purchases (ooh, that candle smells nice, oooh that's a pretty frame, aaarggh I've just realised I've got a friend coming to stay and I've not got a spare duvet) - The Queens Retail Park asda will be for big ticket items - of the kind you can get from Asda Direct

I'd like an out of town Waitrose or M&S for treats. I love Waitrose in Lichfield.

As a non-driver I'd prefer shops to stay in the town, but costs and road infrastructure seem to prohibit that.
