Comment.

This year has been poorer than previous years for music.

unfortunately, i fear this can more likely be attributed to the inevitable passage of time.. it's not that music is getting worse, it's that we're getting older and so just don't "get" it..

Dug out a few oldies today and have had them on in the office. Can't say I like much dance/electronic stuff these days but these still float my boat:

Leftfield - Leftism
Underworld - Beaucoup Fish
DJ Shadow - Entroducing

Roots Manuva currently upsetting the couple in the office next door.

amazing.. i haven't listened to this in years, which is a great shame..

that tune with the really dark feel, plucked string instrument at the start, then the drums go crazy - brilliant.. or maybe that's on pre-emptive strike, actually.. meh, it's the shiznit..

'Meiso' by DJ Krush is a good work album. I'd get fanny adams done if I was listening to Rodney Manuva all day.

To be fair apart from a few SQL queries and a few reports I haven't got much done today. One of those days. Rodders is simply helping me to get through to 4pm.

Dream Warriors now!! Gerrin.

Edit: That is a piss funny Avatar. :quagmire:

Bodyrox featuring Luciana - Yeah Yeah

heavy tune.. i hated it when i first heard, but now i love it for many of the reasons that initally turned me off.. it's simplicity is beautiful, and the wonderfully dischordant FM synth bass is (literally) music to my ears.. it's the sort of thing i can imagine going down well in japan - those crazy little young men :v:

It's shit.

Unfortunately Damon's starting to believe his own press. Very bland, very MOR. Gone is the mischief and cheekiness from earlier releases. A damn shame.

Heard some of the new Doves demos a week ago, now they're impressive. Although I did hear on Saturday that they've since gone their seperate ways. Still to confirm.

I guessed as much. You've made my decision for me then. Sounds like it would be a waste of my bandwidth!

Why is it so hard for most musician's to consistently produce good albums??

The Doves on the other hand are the exception and as their albums seem to get better with every release. Some cities is a master :pie: ce so i eagerly anticipate and new offerings from the melancholic northern rockers :)

It's quite catchy. Quite like her. Well, her music anyway. She's a total nut job.

saw a pic in the metro of her yesterday with a review of the new album.....boy has she shifted some weight! she's like a skellington now.

i just love the lyric 'daddy says im ok, so im not going to rehab' (or something like that, only heard it twice so far, once on trevor nelson, 2nd time on radio 2 at work) it just makes me giggle.

the rest of the album sounds pretty interesting so i might have to do a bit of pc magic.
