What's to become of the Shire Hall?

Since the 'university' section appeared, I don't think I've ever seen a 'punter' in there.

It would make a lovely Library.

feck sake. They wonder why visitors are falling when nobody's been sure for two years if the building was staying open or not, the library has gone and the gallery halved?
The councillors are swines who don't give a shit for culture if the unwashed masses can access it.

They have great art exhibitions, but I only remember to go in about once a year

I know people who have lived their whole lives in Stafford and have never been in there - not to the Library (when it was there), the Art Gallery, the Information Centre, the Coffee Shop, the University promotions bit or even the old Court Rooms.

Of course, some of us were involved in real cases in the not-then-old Court Rooms...

Gill Heath said: “We’re going to focus on providing our arts activity more widely across the county, targeting more people with ‘pop-up’ exhibitions and events in new and existing venues within communities.

“It’s going to be different from a Stafford-based service and I think it has great potential

That's goodnight and knock the lights out on your way out then.

Millar Sandy will need to get some more for sale boards made.

It would save time and money if they put 'Not For Sale' signs on any building that might not be available, for some reason.

Indeed. They appear to know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

I've been in a few times. Gallery squashed into half the space. One two people from Wolverhampton Poly looking really bored waiting for someone to come in and book a course.

Complete waste of that space. They (the Uni) could have had a stand in the Guildhall Centre, could even have poached a few Stafford College students on the way through.

I think a joblot would be the best way to sell these empty buildings.

Buy a shire hall and an old library and get a cinema thrown in for free.

It will be empty of people by December.

It will be just empty thereafter.

Due to location one expects that something more of an 'effort' will be made, at least on the facade front - if that is not too much of a tautology.

Otherwise expect the expected.
