The sad fact is , with it being right next to casa, how long will it be before a window gets smashed , not the best :/

I notice the metal on the side entrance is already getting bent out of shape.

All this development did was create yet more empty buildings . Instead of developing new , the developer should have been forced to redevelop the old areas.

As it is, I’m not even sure if the new development achieved 50% occupancy.

Primark should have been placed in the old Coop tbh. After it was reveloped internally.

Well you’re right, no one can be forced to be build somewhere but in an ideal world , Primark would have been better suited there. At least it’d have boosted that area of town, maybe some kind of incentive from the forward thinking council could have persuaded them. As is, I fail to really see what benefit the new area has done for the town. All the retail units , with the exception of Nando’s, and zizzi were already in town in different units. Ok, the cinema has helped, but that could probably have still been built over the old love 2 love and still been a good addition.

Enjoying a drop of red.
The old Co-op would never have suited Primark or any other large shop to be fair. The amount of work, and cost in making it fit for retail and regulation purposes in this day and age simply wouldn't be cost effective. I doubt any retailer would give it anything other than a very short initial glance.

It's sad but the reality.

Ditto a new cinema would only have ever opened in a purpose build building.

Considering where town centres are throughout the country, I don't think Stafford is really doing that bad. Hopefully, when whatever happens over Brexit happens and we can all get on with life, the economy (and thus the willingness of businesses to expand and open up in small towns) will get back on an upward curve.

Having said that, the places in town that offer the kind of good service and good food people want, always seem to busy to me.
