Just got back from my jolly holiday and wondered where everybody else had been this year?

(If you don’t mind me asking!)

I went to Anglesey, loved it!

But was thinking of travelling little more afar next year and was hoping for a little inspiration!

We had a short break in London in June. A weeks climbing in the Lake district in July and are planning a week in the sun for October - will be a last minute deal so not sure where yet.

Had a couple of weeks in Italy in May, and a week on the Isles of Scilly coming up next month. We're also talking about a week in the Lake District in November, but only if I cam find dome appropriate accommodation. Luckily having relatives in Yorkshire means we get quite a few weekends up there, I am near Bridlington right now.

What area are you looking at in the Lake District Lucy - we stayed in a really nice bungalow in Keswick - was very reasonably priced.

Shell island twice this year, Blackpool for a couple of days, planing on shell island or Anglsey soon,
and saving for France perhaps motor down to spain next year.

Had a week in Suffolk ,very nice not to commercial .Happy memories of Shell island a great place when I was a youngster

Being from Nottingham originally i hadn't really been to much stuff in the west midlands and staffordshire. So for my holiday this year Me, the wife and my four year old stayed at Alton Towers for a week. Got to say, i wasn't expecting to enjoy it for that long but i had a blast. I knew our daughter would love it but me and Mrs Arcadesteve didn't expect to love it for the whole week. But we did.

The hotel was nice, clean and pleasant. All the staff were friendly and we had plenty of time to get around all the rides in our own time. Plus we got early ride time for staying in the hotel. And it didn't rain. Miracle! But now that we've been around everything we don't really need to go back. Next year we're thinking of going to the seaside.

We went to Turkey and stayed at a fantastic hotel near Bodram called the Keffluka Hotel, I can highly recommend it!

However we booked through Thomson and they are an absolute disgrace, I will never travel with them again!

I will explain all in a separate thread.

Not been anywhere since 2006 and am unlikely to go in the near future, first it was blasted shrimp which couldn't be left, now it's frogs. No one wants to pop in and feed them so i'm stuck at home. I'd love to go back to Ireland, last time i was there i didn't even get to go in a pub :(

Had a long weekend in San Pedro De Alcantura, in Spain, it was ok, not bad but not great. Had 5 or 6 days in Blackpool for Rebellion Festival and in September going to Pefkos in Rhodes for 2 weeks.
