They'll be back, I'm sure - just removed for the benefit of tomorrow's international marketing jamboree, I would presume..

The old codgers that actually use them are, presumably, not officially approved sponsors.

I would predict they have been removed prior to the Olympic Torch passing through and will be returned afterwards. I seem to remember a similar thread in the past asking where they had gone before an event.

Last week the lamposts in newport road were painted. This week the road has been swept twice. I think they removed the salt bin, I guess it was the wrong colour of yellow.

I wonder if they will clear up the weekly vomit left behind after Tuesday student night.

LOCOG committee possibly didn't like our branding - possibly we haven't got permission to have Staffordshire Knot associated with the Olympcs - I had 2 people from Coca Cola wanting to put banners all across The Swan yesterday because of the TV coverage - told him I sold Pepsi!

Sir, i like your style !

So we now know why the benches have gone, but to answer the original question - where have they gone...?:britain:

Maybe in a dimly lit warehouse in the middle of nowhere, next to where they keep the Ark of the Covenant.

And they had a bloke squirting weedkiller around the bases of the lamposts and bollards on Newport Road a couple of weeks ago ...

There is, if i'm not mistaken, a comedy 'skit' upon the notion that the queen must think the world smells of fresh paint?

Maybe it should be a mix of paint and weed-killer. :)
