I live closer to the tip than Hobby Way, and we have no issues at all, it sometimes smells as I drive past, but as soon as I'm past the pub the smell goes.

Oh yes, I got my geography mixed up, I do live further away. There is a lingering rotten smell around that area at the moment.

I guess living next door to a tip is not ideal, although in Scunthorpe the WHOLE TOWN stinks..usually of "Steelworks" smell or the sewage plant when they decide to give it a stir !

Sorry to be boring but looking at another place now (to rent) and it is in Hednesford......what is Hednesford like please....polite answers only please; ) !

I don't know much about Hednesford. Heath Hayes is fine, but I'd be further towards the high street than that location.

Ok thanks for the feedback..hope somebody (with Hednesford knowledge can answer)...........can help. Quite interesting when your planning to move to an area which you know nothing about...how much you rely on local guidance..........I am sure it cannot be worse than Scunthorpe ?!

Hednesford almost merges into Heah Hayes these days Most of the area is OK
As Lucy said Heath Hayes towards the High St is more villagey The rest of Heath Hayes towards Cannock is a large residential area as bland as any other
Hednesford for me does not have the same village feel anywhere but there are some rough parts and some are fine
My mother lives in Hednesford and loves it The town centre is undergoing a refit at present and does attract the local yuffs at night

Thanks for the honest appraisal. This appartment I am looking at (as temporary to rent) is on Church Hill Mews......not sure if you know in that detail where in Hednesford that is, ie - good / bad or indifferent please?

I would have thought most of Hednesford would be good enough for a Scunny Boy, especially if it's only intended as a short-term base.

ha ha Scunthorpe is not very popular is it. It always amazes me that even people who have never been always know it's a bit of a hole ! (Actually it is not as bad as people perceive, as you know)

You mean the Appleby Frodingham Gala? I cannot think of anything you could possible put on a postcode of Scunthorpe that would be appealing, let me think

1. The steelworks at sunrise or
2. Scunthorpe United's football ground under a full moon or how about

3. The Tesco's retail park on a snowy day ?!

No, the works itself - is it still there?

The chaps driving the rolling mills were beyond human comprehension I'll have a look for a video..
