Can't find a thread for this pub. It has reopened today under new management, haven't been able to get there so no report.

Its had a lot of new managers over the last few years.

It used to be a decent drinking pub and once had a very good restaurant upstairs.

I used to live in Penkridge. When I lived in Penkridge it had lots of very good pubs, sadly over the years they've gone into decline and the quality of beer has been more miss than hit. I now wouldn't travel to Penkridge for a night out unless visiting family or friends. The Star has always been my favourite pub and still is.

I would agree about the Star. White Hart can no-longer use the upstairs rooms because of access problems.

Yes, the White Hart was an excellent pub.
Penkridge pubs had "gone into decline" because nearly all of them ended up being owned by Punch Taverns. Not the Star though and that's the one I use most.
