Why does it always rain on me?

*Sigh* Ive broken the heel on my favourite boots. Last week the sole came off one of my other pairs of boots. A couple of weeks before that I jumped in Sheep poo with my only other pair of boots and ruined them! *sob*

Both my chimneys have been condemned!
Is this the new house you have moved to Bob? Do you still have to have a survey done when buying? Any chance of recompense from either insurers or sellers? (been a while since we bought ours and things change so quickly)

It's a 200 year old house, a few issues are to be expected, we were aware the chimneys might not be 100%, it's a pain but not a complete suprise.

It's not a huge job as one chimney just needs a new flue to fit to the log burner and the open fire will be converterted to fit a log burner - saving a huge amount of mess and building work.

Great move, log burners rock! Have you had one before?

I love an open fire!

We put a log burner in, in a house we lived in a few years ago, although I missed the open fire. The place we've just moved from had an open fire which we loved, we'd spent a huge amount of time and money rebuilding the chimney and putting in a brick surround with a big beam across the top - it looked lovely and we've just replicated it here (should have checked the chimneys first) we should be able to get the insert log burner in without too much hastle although I'll really miss the fire. The dining room has a log burner already but I've been told it's not 'safe' it seems someone, at some point decided to glue open the top vents so if you try and shut it down from above the smoke pours out. Not really ideal.

Sounds like an excuse to go shopping!

I spun my car on Matalan island 2 weeks ago and now Im sure it keeps trying to do it again :(

Seems to be quite a slippy island that lately. Lost the back end of my car there about 4 weeks ago in damp weather doing a sensible speed in busy conditions. Luckily no one too close behind me and managed to get it back in shape pretty quick. :s

I saw a landrover nearly tip up on that roundabout the other day.

Does it have to go back then? We not long ago had to return 2 sticks of memory as they were that faulty the pc wouldn't even post. What game was it?

The card works in my brothers pc, so it's not the card. The game is xcom, it's a remake of one of my favourite games of the 90s. Was really looking forward to it!

Sounds exactly the same as what happened to me, slow speed but I ended up facing oncoming traffic :( While its not good that its happened to other people, at least Im not the only one, husband had me convinced it was my driving!

When you say 'Matalan Island', do you mean the Lichfield Road/Silkmore lane junction?
Yes, I was heading from town on Lichfield Rd heading towards the retail park, and the car spun on the roundabout between Radford Bank (A34) and Silkmore Lane. I was lucky as although it was a very busy day (opening of the new Asda store) I managed not to hit anything, really sacred me though.....
