Drainage and other highways problems can be reported to the County Council using its online fault reporting at https://apps2.staffordshire.gov.uk/web/reportfault/#top
Or for a non partisan website where your report of a problem remains in the public domain and cannot be hidden away if it suits the council
Alternatively get off your ass and rake it off yasen
My father (90) maintains the shore, as they call these things over there, across the road from his house at no cost to the County Council.
I've just reported my street as all are up to the top with dirt. We shall stand back and see what happens!
Stand well back.
I would not want to put someone out of a job but actually it's 3 gullies completely full. One has vegetation growing out of it
The council would probably take you to court for messing with it.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Good luck with that one, they couldn't be bothered to come out in the first place probably ! and if they did the drains wouldn't get blocked up like they do, like they can't be bothered to pick the litter up in the streets or place bins along them, as it may upset the neighbours having a bin outside their house. See you got me stated now
I have reported it will take a look today and photo all the blocked drains on Newport Road by Brunswick terrace
I've got a bin by my house, however, it would appear easier for people to dump their rubbish in my garden than use the bin. I don't know what it is about Stafford but the amount of litter is obscene, it's not the council that litters but it peeves me how little the council prosecutes seeing as people evidently merrily dump their detritus at their feet rather than use a bin, and that's just wrappers. Then there is there is the chuddy and the dog doo, ugh yuck!!!
I regularly notice drains seem to be blocked where pedestrians cross, making it really difficult to cross the road. The one that winds me up the most is the crossing by Tesco on the Newport road, followed by the crossing at Gaol island at North end of the town by plumbits at the end of the Queensway, possibly the two most dangerous places to cross in Town. These regulary flood making it hard to cross when it rains.
Imagine being a litter warden and the sh1t you would get then
So then the litter wardens have to go around in pairs
So say 15k pa x 2, plus employers contributions .That would bring it to £40k pa then you would have court costs and the time away from duty for ( frequently adjourned cases ) court
Just to police a tiny area
It has to be conscious area effort by residents groups or it won't happen
And we all know what we think of some of our neighbours
@John Marwood but wouldn't the town be a more beautiful and nicer place to be! Surely it would be worth the money.
When I've been away I actually notice how clean places are and although it's nice to come home I'm always struck how grubby and full of rubbish the streets of Stafford are.
My point was that it will not be council led because councils will only be focusing on services they are legally obliged to provide
Thanks to you know who
I detest litter. My car is full of it
Should you ever have the misfortune to venture to Bloxwich, or the nearby idyllically named estate of Beechdale, you will see what litter in large quantities really looks like.
