Woman dies in Stafford house fire

Firefighters were called to a semi-detached property in Western Downs today.
Emergency services including fire crews from Stafford, Rising Brook and Gnosall, were called to Tamar Grove at around 8.10am.
Significant damage was caused to the ground floor of the property. Fire investigators and police have been at the scene throughout the day.
Inspector Michael Eyre, from Staffordshire Police, said: "Sadly the occupant, a woman in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"At this time, no formal identification has taken place," he added.
Station commander Dale Harrison, from Staffordshire fire service, said: "It was a fatal fire. An investigation is still in progress."

Also make sure you know exactly where the door and window keys are to be able to get out quickly. When my parents house caught fire they were so disorientated with the smoke they struggled to find the right key on the bunch left on a shelf. (They couldn't even find the phone on the wall, my dad had to go down the road to the phone box to ring the fire brigade)
