Young professional moving to Stafford, where should I look?

Apologies if this is in the wrong area - I've been scouring some forums about moving to Stafford and came across two that offered a bit of insight but I'd like to delve a little deeper into the kind of thing I'm looking for and hoped some fellow young professionals (and other willing helpers) might be able to narrow some options down.

I am considering a move early next year into a house share to accommodate a new job near Staffordshire University.

Im a single, no ties, female, 27

I have a car so public transport is not a massive issue but still ideal.

I'd like to be in an area good for social gatherings/meeting places e.g pubs/cafes/restaurants/cinema

An area where I would be likely to meet other young professionals (I might be 27 but I have the mindset of a 19 year old - and proud :slayer:)

10-15 mile radius of Staffordshire University

A gym nearby would be great!

I like green - An area that can give me the opportunity to unleash my inner hippie and smell the leaves

Any ideas that I could look into would be fab and thanks for taking the time to read :)

Nothing much to add to Gramaisc's post! As he says you are coming to Stafford at an opportunistic time for renting options, with the demise of the Stafford Campus of Staff's Uni', so there should be plenty of Landlords looking for tenants, and prospective tenants looking for people to share with. I wish you luck.
You also indicate interest in experiencing the 'great outdoors', don't know what you are used to, but I believe you are in for a treat! Cannock Chase, The Down's Banks near Stone, and plenty of lovely walking country around the County Town, and less than an hour to the Peak District!
Stafford is not great for Restaurants, I have my favourites, but Stone has much more choice, We only have a small cinema, but by the time you land our new town centre multiplex should be open, or at least built and well on it's way!
Born hear so probably not the best person to praise the place, but born here, lived in Scarborough, Sheffield, Rochdale, and as well as them have worked in Halifax, Leeds, & Manchester. Am biased but I love it. It's comfortable, safe, has excellent transport links! Only my opinion,I know it's not shared! When I had my first child I thought it an excellent place to bring him up! An opinion not shared by everyone I know, some people consider Stafford to be a haughty, standoffish, unfriendly, little town. with a 'small town' mentality to boot! You'll find out!

Bit early BUT WELCOME!

Hi, I work at the uni so might be able to help, is it the Stafford campus you'll be working at? Even if it's not then you can join the loads of us that do / will do the 20 min commute to Stoke every day.

There isn't going to be anywhere in walking distance of town that doesn't fit the bill of what your asking. It's a lovely friendly place with a good mix of pubs and easy access to big green spaces.
