Was tempted to try the Gurka food , but not being very adventureous had a lovely Hog Roast instead.
Wimp! It was great stuff, and I look forward to Stafford's first Gurkha restaurant. I even managed to answer politely when asked if my dumplings were OK.

The Gurkha chicks certainly brightened the place up, too.
Will deffo give it a go then if they are selling it at next years open day .

I see, on the back of the programme ,that there is a Bonfire & Fireworks Display at 5.30pm on 3rd November. Hopefully they will be serving some Gurka food then for me to give it a bash ;)

I visited a Nepalese restaraunt recently and certainly enjoyed the food. I've noticed many call themselves Gurkha Nepalese retaraunts.

I've just come past and that shop seems to be turning into an Afro-Caribbean supplier.

Some nice pics there! One air show I'd love to see would either be the Blue Angels or Red Arrows. Was totally obsessed with them as a kid... (cheers for the link Gramaisc)

Spent my youth with the Arrows hammering past my bedroom window - got off my bike once because I thought he was a bit low - back in the Gnat days, that is -

I remember living out in the sticks near Church Eaton and fighter jets used to fly over the house amazingly low all the time. I remember the pilot once seeing me on approach and he turned it upside down and waved! Also remember a massive cargo plain flying over, shook the damn house it was that low.

I once lost a Thermos flask to the noise of a Vulcan at Cottemore.

The Arrows weren't the same after they 'progressed' to the Hawks. The Gnat was a phenomenal device - it would roll 400 degrees a second - there's just nothing like it now..

1, It was full - it was the warmth that gave it away.

2, It should have been Cottesmore, but you knew that.

There are signs up now for this year's Open Day on Saturday, September 1st. Last year's was a great day out.

11:30 hrs until 17:30 hrs.

I think it was a quid entry on foot, or a fiver a car, last year. Well, something like that, anyway.

Brilliant again this year - here watching the stunt bikers at the moment. Spitfire will be coming along for a fly past :)

Well turned out

Also hot pork baps, with apple sauce and stuffing are lovely x

Well done to organisers !

It really was good, I thought. The weather held and it actually got very warm at times. There was the usual display of casually abandoned vehicles for kids to lark about on, in and under.

The motorcycle display was OK to start with..

And then it just got mental - the Air Ambulance crew looked aghast at this point, having just invested in some hot pork baps..

The Gurkha Food Tent was my primary target.

Mission complete.

Not all the Gurkhas were displaying their legendary camouflage skills.

The Fire and Rescue Service turned up and flaunted the kit we've bought them.

Apparently, there's only room for two in the basket - anybody else just has to hang on..
