I've said it before, and i'll say it again...Ah, you only get five minutes now - then it's there for all eternity..
Probably the point i was trying to make is that most people don't fit other peoples criteria for going into the post house. l.
I'm open to correction, but I believe that may have been a quote from Saint Marwood.Someone once suggested on here that most Staffordians having £40.00 for a night out would opt for a 'two for a tenner' deal and get p*ss*d with the other £30.00. A bit sweeping perhaps but.............
That's about where I'm at on this one, but we will travel and hotel it for certain places that we like a couple of times a year.Meals come in various guises. To me they are:
Cheapy in a pub: £10
Nice meal out: £25
Posh meal: £40+
Obviously the frequency drops as you move up in price, I have lots of cheapys but only a few posh ones a year.
EDIT: That is per person, with a drink (or maybe 2).
I think what amazes me is those people who feel that they can pass comment on the Post House or those who choose to visit without having actually been there themselves. It is also alarming that some seem to want the place to fail as it somehow doesn't fit into their image of what a restaurant should be like - I know lets bull doze the place and stick a Burger King there instead so that everyone can down copious amounts of MSG with a large coke for just a few quid.
People are happy to pay £40 for what, when it comes down to it, is just food,

Ade, I tend to disagree. When you go out to a fine dining restaurant it's not just about the food, it's about the experience. The whole dressing up thing, lovely surroundings, being treated nicely, wonderful ambiance and how the food is served and presented.
Obviously the food has to taste good and I do agree that paying a high price does not guarantee this.
PS. £40 per person for a meal is just shameful! Charging that kind of money just for a meal in the current climate is shameful, they deserve to fail! That's just greedy.
There is the thing Hothouse, there are some lovely venues where you can dress up etc, without paying quite as much.
