Just had to explain to the kids that there will be no power for around 3 hours so no internet.
I told them the apocalypse isnt upon us and we will have power restored later ;)

The itv central news van passed me on the Wolverhampton road heading towards town. Hung some new curtains, hoping the creases will drop out, made a lemon drizzle cake, filled in some settling cracks in the plaster, did the ironing (yawn) going to do my Pilates this afternoon then make a chicken jalfrezi for tea, feet up watch TV, read the coast magazine and arm chair travel to somewhere dry and warm!

@John Marwood 's avatar makes me laugh (yes, I've seen the original & that's not why) - at Christmas when visiting the oldies in Derrington I asked them why the people round the corner had a 'Grim Reaper' ontop of their garage as part of their Christmas lights display... turns out its just an overly large parasol! :strange:

Still, I thought it funny....Grim Reaper at Derrington!

Fed up of my weight loss/healthy eating diet now :( . And hating fruit (apart from bananas, preferably with custard...) have just completed a bushtucker trial and eaten a whole apple instead of the usual slinging most of it after an hour of nibbling away.

I find the best diet is to buy a smaller plate to serve your food on, rather than force feed yourself food you're going to get fed up with, just make sure that two thirds of the plate has veg on and chop up carrots peppers celery and cucumber into sticks make a low fat mint yoghurt dip and leave them in fridge for emergency snacking and in times of chocolate emergencies buy a few packs of the mini chocolate buttons and limit yourself to one couple times a week as a reward and exercise walk, yoga, gardening, housework, even run up and down the stairs anything that is free to do. I would avoid the alcohol still if you can it has many calories especially if you struggle to limit it to a treat at the weekend and then only a glass or two. It must be difficult but didn't you say you gave up smoking, if so you do have the will power then, just keep at it I'm sure you'll feel better in the long run.

I'm ok when I'm keeping busy or walking miles, but after a good soaking this morning on a walk I've stopped in the rest of the day. Daren't have just one chocolate or the whole packet goes in minutes. Don't like raw carrots or celery etc either or that would have been ideal to snack on. Already feeling better on my 11th day of the diet and keeping off the cider for a bit. Just got to have that will power :D

Husband & I have been on a somewhat enforced diet the last few weeks (I had a telling off from the diabetic nurse for drinking too much :strange: & husband starting his new job in the middle of last month & missing a payday mean funds are a bit stretched). I was feeling really smug with myself as I had stuck ridgedly to the no snacks or alcohol rule & have been doing at least an hours brisk walk everyday, while the husband caved & ate loads of crisps - chocolate - cake & booze over about 5 days....

....REALLY SMUG, until we went & weighed ourselves in Tesco (we don't own scales) I had lost a grand total of 2lb , & husband who had stuffed his face had lost 5LB! its just not fair!

I know that feeling well! Well done for sticking to it ,and keep it up .

Feeling a bit better now I've just got a good cooked tea down me.(And didn't feel guilty eating the crunchy burnt fat on the pork steak...tasted bloody lovely ;) ) Had a bit of a health scare myself last week, so a healthier diet and less booze it's got to be  . Just a pity the old knees won't let me start running again. Got to be content with walking miles and jumping on the exercise bike in the garage.

Keep getting a message up again when trying to search for anything on google, wanting me to agree to their terms and conditions and not letting me google anything unless I do :( That's while using Chrome, but got round it tonight by using another browser. Anyone else getting it?
