Went here today, no bins were over flowing, there were signs from the carpark as to which way to walk. H and m and new look are really nice inside, didn't go into river Island, I can see it getting extremely busy around there once all the shops are ready, looking forward to it all being done.

It's easy to find, but getting in was another matter. You couldn't access it via the car park, and no signage to tell you which way to go. The logical move was down the steps(but they were blocked off so unless you came out of the side door of the car park you wouldn't follow this route), along the tow path, back on to the main road, turn right, past the pub and towards the Council Buildings. In reality if you came out of the main car park entrance you had to go right round, past the Sun and the wood shop to the old closed down electrical shop and hang a right towards the Council Buildings, all with no signage so if you are not a local you would have no idea where you were going. There the pathway was blocked off again for no apparent reason, so it was a case of going through the car park and you come out at the access road for deliveries. From there it's pretty obvious which way to go - you just followed the construction barriers - but it was a bit of a faff.

Ultimately the shops have opened before the site is ready, understandable as they, no doubt, have bills to pay but I hope they have penalties attached to the constructors
Is this all a conspiracy by The Greengate Street traders to keep you shopping in the town and Guildhall

Are we talking a branch of gap the international clothes store, or a retail opportunity as the council calls them. (Stafford is full of them apparently)

As M&S closes tomorrow, will they be giving away stuff like lemon meringue, clothes and chairs? What time do they lock up shop?

They are not transferring the stock from one shop to another.

It will all go back to the warehouse. Not sure about the food though.

To all the doubting Thomas's posting negative comments about the shopping centre and saying it won't bring in shoppers from further afield..... It already is!!
In just the short time it has been open and even with only two or three shops we have had a big upturn in customers from further afield. Stoke area, Wolverhampton and Lichfield mainly. Apparantly the local papers in these areas have covered the opening and it is making people visit - hoorah!
This is especially good for us as there are no longer any specialist lingerie shops in the Stoke area or Lichfield and I have also noticed a good three or four times as many people walking down Mill Street - guess if they come in on the train it's the logical route to take.
So onwards and upwards Stafford, I'm looking forward to the rest of the shops opening and for the record on a personal note rather than a business note - I really like the look of the new centre :)
