Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

Bon Marche was where Greenwoods (still) is?

Where the halloween shop is used to be the Woolwich Building Society - years ago - can't remember what has been there since. I still have the "Staff have no access to the safe" sign from the skip when it was gutted after they went.
I have no idea! Thankfully @Wormella does :)

This seems to be near to opening day. It's opposite Verso lounge. Not my cup of tea personally but it's nice to see new places opening.

Is this a thing now? Dessert shops? I see them more and more and they seem to be really popular, the idea and concept is a little alien to me, but I don't particularly have a sweet tooth and apparently I am also, ahem, careful, with my money.

I am not sure this is the case in Stafford. A closure of a Starbucks branch is a pretty rare thing nationally.
It's moving to the Hough so not actually closing as it will actually gave larger premises.

I'm glad it's going as it's overpriced crap and, in my opinion, the least friendly of all the coffee shops. Will give a little breathing space to our local independents.

I do think it's fairly unlikely that I'd use it when it moves to the hough tbh, there's more chance me heading over to the train station n having one there. Saying that, in the past year I've probably used Caffe Nero and Costa more anyway, so won't be a massive loss to me.

I've never been in a Starbucks, but most people I know prefer Costa to Starbucks anyway. Been in Costa and Nero and they were pretty good, and I use Costa pods for my coffee in the morning.

But Starbucks? Nah. Imported American crap is all I hear about them.

If the supposed café culture is so strong in Stafford town centre, a very successful national chain would be staying in the town centre.

Only time will tell whether Stafford will eat enough deserts.

It’s not moving. The current Starbucks is operated by Starbucks, the new drive-through model is to be a franchise model.

I like Starbucks, regardless of how they manage thier taxes - I like their coffee, I like being able to get what I want wherever I am in the country/world and I love a pumpkin spice late.

The store in Stafford is always busy, a friend of my girlfriend works there and the staff are to be made redundant. The greed of the property owner is a great problem, one that is common in all town centres.

Exactamundo! Middle-mini-me works there & is to be made redundant.

New Hough Starbucks is a franchise & as such has no responsibility to take on the REAL Starbucks staff.

Well as an observer, not privy to the internal workings of the company, it's moving.

My dislike of the place is centred on the quality/price/customer experience of this place, nothing to do with tax.

I'm sorry for those losing their jobs, obviously but I won't miss the place, or be going to the new one.

Plenty of quality alternatives in town.

The drive through model, does it also have seating?
