In all honesty I don’t think balloons should be allowed in any situation or at least they should come with a hefty tax/donation to a conservation trust.

I understand the no teddy bears request too, they’ll be good for nothing but landfill after being outside for two weeks with the rotting flowers.

I've seen first hand what balloons can do to an animal if digested, it isn't a pretty sight.
Personally speaking, I believe all helium ballons should be banned.

Bad enough the rubber pollution, but also a waste of a valuable resource. (Helium, while being the second most common element in the Universe, is nonetheless scarce on the Earth and it has many uses in industry and cryogenics.)

I believe MRI scanners use helium. Much sooner have MRI scanners than floaty balloons. I believe that helium escapes the atmosphere as well when it is released into the air?

A friend got a call yesterday to inform them that their father's funeral can no longer take place on the day that the Queen will be laid to rest. This is apparently the case up and down the country, with it now being a bank holiday.

That's a bit mad, isn't it?

Are they sure the ‘plane was big enough ? I suppose there would be political implications in using an Anatov. Then again, probably an adapted Cessna could have done the job.
