Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

Having trouble understanding quite what the Latvian immigration office are telling me, but apparently I haven't met the requirements for a residential permit but I'm getting one anyway. I just have to prove I don't have TB first.

A fleeting visit to Sainsburys this morning, I like a particular corduroy trouser they sell and bought them in two other colours. Going full geography teacher. I dont get over that side of town too much these days but it struck me how civilised Sainsburys is compared to the other supermarkets.
It's lovely isn't it? Staff are so nice, majority always ask how you are. Some even take time to stand and talk, even tho they aren't supposed to. (Mentioning no names!)

Booths might be the best supermarket chain.
And not only with abolishing the self service tills.

I asked my husband the other day how I looked before I went to work - he replied:

"Like a religious studies teacher'

I wasn't sure if that was a compliment or not??

I am indeed a religious studies teacher, so I apparently I'm not breaking any fashion boundaries...

Christmas Do for me tonight. I'm currently in the world's coldest Travelodge and shortly I'm off the party on a car park
Where you gone babb?
We had ours at Manchester Central last Sunday. Was ok, but for the money spent, I could feed me and Great Unwashed for at least a month!

And was "the money spent" from us taxpayers ?
Probably, seeing how I do work for the NHS and get paid by the Goverment. Youngest however, works elsewhere, so it's probably his board that I used to pay for the whole shebang.

It wasn't out the public coffers if thats what you mean. Each and everyone of us have worked our socks off this last year to pay for it. A job I might add, not many want to do. Let's face it, getting a walking stick across the side of your knee or back of the head isn't much fun best of times.

But if "it wasn't out the public coffers" where was it from ?
I've not suggested you haven't worked your socks off this last year.

Now you are being an awkward arsehole.

I work for the NHS. Are we not entitled to use some of our wages for a ward/works night out? It isn't like the bosses of St. Georges dipped in the budget and said '' Have a night out on us''. No, I wiped arses, changed wet incontinence pads etc. Got kicked, thumped, had my hair pulled, scratched, hit with a walking stick or two, even got a torn ligament in my knee and had ten ton of shit knocked out of me at the same time.
So yes, the NHS is paid for by the general public, therefore, my monthly pay is too. But don't you dare question how it was paid for.

I wasn't at all being awkward and now realise that I misinterpreted your earlier comment.
I thought Manchester and back wouldn't come cheap, wrongly thought "Travelodge" was from you and meant an overnight stay and from "for the money spent, I could feed me and Great Unwashed for at least a month" believed that far far more had been spent on food, and drink, than employees would be prepared to spend themselves, my experience of works Christmas dos being only a meal and few pints, and so wrongly, as I now know, assumed that it had been funded by the employer.
I apologise for my mistake and any distress it caused you.

The dictionary definition of 'thick as pig-shit'.
