I missed the stray cat post. Are you looking after it
@littleme and eventually taking him in ? Or just feeding him when he appears ?
We managed to get the trust of Rupert the stray cat back home in Stafford. His owners had up sticks and left him behind and he was getting thinner and thinner. Rather feisty at times, never knew when he'd suddenly turn and nip after enjoying a stroke. He'd come inside the house when hubby wasn't there for food . But as soon as he came home from work he'd go mad to get out. So no option of us adopting him.
Several of us were feeding him and made a little shelter in the neighbours front garden. Eventually got him caught , taken to vet and neutured and chipped to a nice gentleman in Uttoxeter that someone knew . He picked him up from the vets (without even meeting the cat before) straight after his op . Rupert changed into a calm and loving cat with his new 'dad' and we got to see lots of photos of him settling into his comfy new home.
I'd been in tears the day I went along to take him to the vets , crawling around the vets floor saying goodbye to him in his basket. But all worth it in the end. And the extra money left over from that we'd all chipped in for his vets fees went to help another stray cat , who'd just been brought in that morning after a road accident.
