Today I worked from home. Well to be accurate, I took the dogs, a rucksack and a camping chair and we walked to Oldacre Valley where we stayed until mid afternoon. There are a couple of secluded spots in the valley (not that it gets busy at the best of times) where you get decent 4g signal for making video calls so all was good. Didn't see a soul from 10 am until we started walking home at 3. Bliss.

Bet your video call recipients were jealous

They leave the signs in place for a few weeks.
It saves them having to put them out again when they come back to put it right after the sun has melted the tar again.

They seem to have come and sorted it now as we have a flat, darker colour road not covered in stones on our bit again.

I went to Birmingham on the train today on the elusive shoe hunt for the wedding in August.

I thought that the train would be empty, it was quite full, but thankfully no one sat next to me.
I was grateful for that, nothing to do with coronavirus, I just get a streak of misanthropy when I’m on a train.

Most people wore masks, just the odd scallywag from Liverpool who decided not to bother.

Birmingham was such a disappointment compared to my last visit before lockdown, it just seemed so lacking.

After walking 13,000 steps today, I still couldn’t find the shoes.

I was going to suggest the same. Just because you’ve had both jabs doesn’t mean you might not get it with serious effects. I know a few people that have had it last year & the effects ranged from 2 dying to 1 who had hardly any effects & actually went to work. There was just about everything in between. It affects everyone differently & who knows how it will affect you until you catch it.
About your back, you might have tried this (& everyone is different, it may not work for you). I find when standing around it eases my pain by standing straight upright & pushing my shoulders etc back & pushing hips forward. The pain etc tends to make me bend forward when standing/ moving slowly without realising. By standing more “upright” it eases pain
( you can look a bit silly though)

I did a covid test, negative, as I've developed a cough along with the chills, and because the husband brought me a posy of roses in from the garden and I couldn't smell a thing!

I've had this back problem for 18months, was referred to micats, bur it was just as we went into lockdown so all my physio has been on the phone. In March I stupidly asked them to stop calling as I felt I was in control of my pain.... Putting a lid on a pot of paint did it this time, anyhow, I'm referred back to micats, have new gentler excercises and they're seeing people now!

*although micats referral takes 2 - 3 months...

Well the good news is that I have both a urine infection and a chest infection. Antibiotics prescribed.

Just the wait on my PCR test now., which takes up to 2 days.

What I find very strange is that I can't leave the house* until I get my covid results, yet husband and daughter can come and go as they please!

*not that I want to go anywhere at all with severe back pain.

Hmmm it was the Dr's surgery themselves that told me they can carry on with daily activity as long as they're not showing any symptoms. Which neither are. I still find it very strange.
It might be worth querying this, if you can get them to answer the phone?

I queried it twice once as someone else would have to go to collect a sample bottle and return it, then the second time when they phoned with the diagnosis.

I even phoned Cornwells chemist (where my prescription is) to query who could collect it, and they also said the same.

Everything seems to be changing very quickly, up till now (I last visited on Tues 18th May) I've had to wait in my car at the (Holmcroft Rd) Dr's till they phone me, then, wait at the door till they let you in the doorway to do a temperature test and sanitise before going straight to the room.

My appointment with the Physio was at Stafford Health & wellbeing, walked straight in, no temperature test, no temperature test at all from the physio either.

The carer went to collect my (un) Fitnote from Holmcroft surgery on Wednesday evening, and said he could walk straight in, no temperature checks and people were sat waiting to be seen, and reception was open.

Big changes, too fast.
