Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

Landlord may have shot himself in the foot, notice in the door says he has taken back the premises due to non payment (of rent I assume). Under the current government moratorium landlords are not permitted to take premises back for non payment of rent.
That possibly finished at the end of June?

No, it's for all businesses. Many businesses have received government financial assistance and are still sticking two fingers up to their landlords knowing that they are currently immune from enforcement action.
This includes several high street 'names' who have had uninterrupted trading throughout the pandemic.

Isn't that just for businesses forced to stay shut? I assumed they had been able to open, but could well be wrong!

That's the way I read it, the rent they owe when forced to close is ringfenced, but if they are now open and still not paying rent then they are fair game

Afraid not, a landlord could go for a CCJ but the preferred, quick, no cost enforcement action that landlords prefer is not available until after March next year.

I've not been but a quick glance at the menu suggests not very vegan -

So its on facebook, and their web page that indicates a Menue actually doesn't contain one!!!!!! https://www.thesquarestafford.co.uk/menu.html Seems a bit daft to me, do they not want customers? Am I missing something?

Thank you Wormella for your help, and I agree with you, not much evidence of them catering for 'wierdos'; I don't imagine they they are particularly bothered I won't be likely to see my custom.

The web company that made it have a link at the bottom that doesn't even go to their site, but a quick search shows it's a new firm set up by someone called Euan Fennell.

Thanks Tek for that info:- If I was the owner I be looking for someone else to create me a fully operating site! (But as I said before, am I missing something? :ohno: Words fail me at times!)

Breakfast menu - king oyster mushroom, homemade granola. You’d have to enquire if the overnight chia oats are in dairy milk or an alternative. Avocado on toast could be served without the duck egg.

Lunch - padron peppers, Korean kimchi, superfood salad

a la carte - artichoke starter, the Pearl barley main if it can be served without pecorino.

It’s not brimming with options but there are a couple.

Seems pretty impossible to attract staff atm, I'm trying to recruit 30 myself atm, and paying a starting wage of £10 ph.

Already annoyingly had a few no shows.
I feel your pain, recruitment is the biggest headache any manager can have. The work I do is quite specialised & the last role we recruited for took us 6 months to fill (& we had agencies scouting the industry too).
