A good way to amass a load of Cuffy points quickly would be to start an 'I love Maggie' thread!

Is this a competition rack up or loose as many skill points as you can before the new forum launches at the weekend? :D

I manage to lose points every day as at least two people are sad enough to cuffy me habitually - even on days I don't post. It's a very mature affair.
I must admit I have awarded yourself a fair amount of cuffy points in the past, generally after you have written something which I felt was totally outrageous and then continued to repeat and defend it, I have also awarded you skill points for your humorous posts.

I certainly do not engage in habitual cuffying of you though.
I have no problem with people disagreeing with me, and thank you for being honest. I can't see the point of habitual cuffying though, it just abuses something which the governator put in to be a bit of fun.
I am one who lurks
Whilst i'm at works

One thing i noticed today (apart from the above) is the Strange Habitual Nature of this Culture of the Habitual Cuffier.

Observe how the elusive Mr. Marwood, despite being AWOL for over a week now, continues to shed points, like a slinking reptile shedding skin under the safety of an unshined upon stone.

A thought came upon me today that may, i stress may, send a proverbial flashlight under the under-slinked stone.

While i have no doubt that the most part of the habitual cuffying is prevalent and ingrained amongst some unusually inclined members of our congregation, another factor may well have been overlooked.

Look through the eyes, if you will, of the more casually aligned member of the forum, dipping in sporadically after a Great Absence. It's hard enough to keep up if you are 'habitually' making an effort to do so. If not, then you may dip in and out of the overwhelming torrent of 'shite' that confronts you, responding accordingly. Thus cuffys/skills may come your way days or even weeks after a post made that may or may not deserve it.

Mainly it's just w*nkers though. i reckons.

Now imagine that you are in charge of that torrent, and it is your responsibility to read each and every single post, regardless of whether it interests you or even if you understand it, and you have to make a completely impartial decision as to whether it is appropriate for The Forum or not. Now imagine you haven't had a chance to log-in for a few days. That's without even starting to think about people who have signed-up just to cause trouble, posts spam, etc.

Welcome to my world. ;)

But don't get too carried away, otherwise he may have to fork out for a copy of The Anarchist's Cookbook for himself...

Could you not give mod powers to a few of the more responsible members so your load could be reduced ?

Where would you find 'more responsible' members of the forum from?

Yes, and this will almost certainly be happening with Forum 2.0.

I started Stafford Forum just as a bit of fun, with a handful of users, and it was all very manageable. I had no idea in my wildest dreams that it would grow to the size that it has, and as such I had not accounted for how much work it would become, or how much it would cost me in terms of time and money!

Obviously, I don't regret a single moment of it, though. :stafford:
