A519 through Slindon

The 50mph zone of the A519 through Slindon (north of Eccleshall) is now a 30mph zone. Be careful on the approach as it goes from 60 straight to 30.

The zone is between here and here.

I haven't seen any form of enforcement yet but if that situation changes I'll report back.

Guessing the cameras will be out in the first couple of weeks to catch the unwary until people get used to it.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Penkridge has been 30 since May and I haven't seen it be enforced yet.

Saw a scamera van there once, since the limit change, apparently to photograph those that didn't slow down to the 40 bit coming from Stafford and not the 30 limit! Odd.

Odder still because surely the best place for the Safety Camera Partnership to park up would be in the centre of Penkridge with the new 30 mph limit, making sure that speeders on the 449 were caught and making that nasty junction and the pedestrian crossings 'safe'.

Unless of course the Safety Camera Partnership is about generating revenue and not promoting safety...

There's all sorts of rules about where they're allowed to park - I can't imagine there's anywhere they can actually put the van in the middle of Penkridge.

They used to sit in the service road to the houses by Goods Station Road, just inside the old 40/new 30 limit area, on a regular basis. They also occasionally appeared up near the Boscomoor Lane/Bungham Lane roundabout or parked on the grass verge just inside the limit at the Wolverhampton end. Haven't seen them at any of these recently though.

I notice the A34 link road is now a 50 instead of a 60.

And I'm sure it's much safer for it
