Sorry guys, I guess my linking of Advent and Acer was because you were all saying Acer were crap and my Advent was from PC world who are obviously (mostly) CRAP, but do sell some very good stuff.
I'm off for a lie down
PC World don't sell a load of crap, mostly they sell perfectly good stuff. The reason it isn't popular, especially amongst us t'interneters is that they mark up their goods a lot (although I have got a couple of great deals from there before, such as my old compact digital camera) and you can get the goods cheaper online. Also the staff are not trained in the products and as such the majority have no idea what they are selling.
There is one bloke in the Stafford store, middle aged, long hair always in a pony tail who really knows his onions so if I ever have to go in there I try to ask him for assistance. The fact of the matter is you pay more money for less service (in general).
I do buy odds 'n sods from PC world occasionally, had the hard drive in my old Vaio fail and got a 250GB SATA from PCWorld for £50 in a sale - even ebuyer couldn't beat that at the time.
As for the Advent netbook, I'd be interested to see in 12 months time if it has been fault free, and the same for anyone who has purchased an Acer.
You watch, the Advent will explode and cause some soft of meltdown now and the Acer will be fine still
