Stoke makes almost anywhere in the UK look good ( apart from perhaps Sandwell, Middlesborough, Aston, and Hull )tek-monkey said:Having just took a wander through the snow hill area of stoke I think we have it easy, unless you need a western union which seems to be the areas primary business.
Did you stay at the Flowerpot Hotel?tek-monkey said:Having just took a wander through the snow hill area of stoke I think we have it easy, unless you need a western union which seems to be the areas primary business.
Having lived in Stafford before ending up living in Stoke, I can totally agree that Stoke is a dump. It actually drains the life out of you. I hate it and if Stafford was not so expensive and my hubby didn't hate all the traffic lights and islands around Stafford, I would leave Stoke in a shot to be back in Stafford with my friends. As it is, I'm stuck here until I win lotto!! Longton is no where near the worst by the way, try a day out checking out... Cobridge, Shelton, Normacot, Tunstall and Stoke itself. Not being funny, but the Samaritans is actually the only business still operating in one of the regeneration zones, they obviously sensed the need for their services!John Marwood said:Stoke makes almost anywhere in the UK look good ( apart from perhaps Sandwell, Middlesborough, Aston, and Hull )tek-monkey said:Having just took a wander through the snow hill area of stoke I think we have it easy, unless you need a western union which seems to be the areas primary business.
I think the Gladstone Museum in Longton is marvelous but how can you tell where the museum ends and the rest of Longton begins..?
To be fair there are some nice people in Stoke and Shelton is my favourite spot, particularly College Road on a hot afternoonscorpiokisses said:Having lived in Stafford before ending up living in Stoke, I can totally agree that Stoke is a dump. Possibly a move to somewhere bigger (the newly closed Waterstones in the guildhall - makes more sense...)Disks & Discs said:Next store in the town centre is now to let due to relocation. Not sure if that means they are just going to have the out of town store and pull out of the Main Street.
Nopezebidee said:It's so frustrating to see all the shops disappearing out of the centre arrrgh! Gimme some choice for kids clothes in Stafford that doesn't involve either 2 bus journeys or use of a car!! I don't WANT to shop at the supermarkets for clothes all the time!!!
(Hope they are moving to Waterstones, that would be...acceptable)
I was informed tonight ( possibly unreliably, as I haven't been past to check ) that the Antelope is open again..basil said:Hu fuc*in rrah! ........tek-monkey said:Antelope possibly closed again? Lights seem to have been out last few times I've walked past (about half 5 - 6).
Can we hve a picture to confirm....Gramaisc said:I have been informed that County Cameras has closed, but I haven't been able to confirm this for myself yet.
