There's been one scrapman going round stafford who plays the steptoe theme music instead of using a bugle/horn/shouting.age'd parent said:They used to give clothes pegs and day old chicks for the scrap iron, 50 odd years ago, wizzard said:I hope you wore a clothes pegage'd parent said:Trumpeting on Coton fields today and yesterday.
in them days they just shouted "any old iron, scrap iron", I think the one we saw was called Bosy and
he used a horse and cart.
He was a real Steptoe type scrap man.
I'm always really paranoid about that happening to me when I'm taking radiators off. I've had scrap men trying to take things they shouldn't a few times, I think they must drive past extra slow whenever they see a plumbers van as they know there's likely to be scrap round.Cazzer44 said:We put our hall radiator outside by the front door to drain whilst we were decorating the hallway, next thing we realised it had gone. We can only guess the scrap man took it........
Was nowhere near the place!age'd parent said:Trumpeting on Coton fields today and yesterday.
