Anyone been to the Golden Orient?

I am due to publish a page in The Staffordshire Newsletter in the next few weeks with information and reviews on 6 businesses in Stafford. One of those businesses will hopefully be the Golden Orient that has just opened in Stafford.

Have any of you been? I need a positive review (a couple of sentences will be fine) along with some scores, your name will not be printed in the Newsletter (unless you want it to).

Can you score the business from 1 -5 on quality of the food, time taken to serve and the cost.
1 = Very Poor
2 = Poor
3 = Average
4 = Good
5 = Excellent

Why only a positive review? I thought the point of a review was an honest opinion, unless they are paying for it in which case it should be labelled an advertisement. As it is I have eaten there twice, once in the evening and once on a lunchtime. Will comment when I know more!

Is it any form of business you are 'reviewing', or just restaurants?

My Hubby and I went on New Years day. We were booked in towards the end of the afternoon and choices were slim. The restaurant was nice and clean, staff were smart. Food was ok. The service was a bit scatty. We were there with two other families and they seemed to get a bit confused so wanted us to all pay together then sort it afterwards. We did not agree to this and I don't think they were happy about that. They also seemed to get a bit annoyed at the children but put on a brave face. Childrens ages were 3 6 7 and 10 there were 10 children and 7 adults in all and all behaved very well (especially the children). I would give the Golden Orient an average score of 3.

Thank you for your comments so far. I think I should explain what I am trying to do. Each week I will run a page in the Staffordshire Newsletter (classed as advertising feature). Within that page will be six advertising slots for local businesses. A business can purchase one of these spaces and in return have a positive review placed under their advert. If we can not find a positive review then we will not let them advertise on the page.

I will instead give the business the constructive feedback (no names given) that has been collected so as they can improve. I feel that it is easier to improve if they know what to change. This in turn should help their business.

Any business based or serving Stafford and the surrounding villages can be featured. If you know any businesses that want to be featured send me a message and I will arrange their advert.

I will let you know when the first page will be run and will appreciate any feedback on how it can be improved.

OK, fair enough!

Honest opinions? I had no issues with it, although it wasn't amazing. Food was fine, although nothing exactly spicy. I like my food hot, so chinese isn't my ideal meal I suppose. We need an indian buffet! Plenty of food, although there seemed to be a lack of ribs from what I overheard from others in there. Choice was OK, although nowhere near as much as the one in Wolverhampton town centre.

I'd give it a 3, would be a 4 but as the price is similar to the one in wolvo I'd expect more choice.

Found the food to be delicious, and regularly replenished. There is variety too, as each time I have been there have been different dishes on offer. One of the dangers of a Buffet type restaurant are the less popular dishes being left too long. Not so here. As a fan of Chinese food and restaurants, I've done the rounds, and found this one to be of excellent quality. The service was fast and polite, the decor extremely pleasant. The last time I was there I was with a party of about 10, three of which were kids between 6 and 1, and we didn't have any issues seating or providing for them. I would give the restaurant a 4, as I am reserving the 5 for when they rotate around all of my favorite dishes at once.
