ANYONE LOST A BLACK LAB DOG ON BASWICH?

Hey.

We found a lovely Black Female Labrador with a Blue Collar in our back garden this morning. No sign on of the owner yet. She's being well behaved and we're keeping her fed & watered.

If you know of anyone who might have information or know the owner please send me a message or call: 07712 627900 and speak to Simon.

If you take her to a vet they will see if she has a microchip then the owner can be contacted.

Lovely dog!

But a reminder to doggy owners - it is a legal requirement for dogs to wear a tag including name, address and postcode. Was so lucky when ours escaped and bolted - we frantically ran after him and lost sight. Within ten minutes our phone was ringing - he was at the pub in the beer garden enjoying a pint with the locals.:pint:

It's possible that the name tag has come off somehow.

Post a picture on a few lampposts?

I found a dog running around on the A34 once, cars narrowly avoiding it. Nobody stopped to help it, I did and took it back to the owners house who seemed oblivious it the fact that it had escaped.

Now found its owner I believe?

I so hope doggie and owner have been reunited.

I once saw a dog running amongst the traffic at the busy Lloyds Bank / Riverway junction. Managed to grab his collar and stood there on the pavement (being sworn at by passing motorists that I should have my dog on a lead!) wondering what I was going to do with it as there wasn't a tag or details on the collar. Luckily the owner came running out of one of the houses further down Lichfield Rd and was so grateful to get her dog back in one piece.

Much easier the last time I found a dog , the owners phone number was on the collar and they were soon reunited. Wasn't easy to read it though, so worth checking those ID's to make sure they haven't worn and unreadable.

That is the name of the owner, rather than the dog.

Oh no, is it?

I got new tags for my dogs a fortnight ago. I put their name on, not mine. Although one of them has a very similar name to mine, so perhaps I would be let off with a caution.

It must have the owner's name and address - you can put the dog's name on, too, if you like - and a phone number (the dog's or your own).

If you ever look at a guide dog's tag, then it will not have the dog's name on. Apparently, it is felt that this makes them less stealable...

No way I'm putting my address on my dogs disc so that anyone who strokes him can find out where to steal him from! Mobile phone number only for me. I'll take my chances with the forces of law :).

Glad the lost dog has gone home

I suspect that Fido is unlikely to be subject to Stop & Search very often. The presence of any identifying tag should placate most officials - unless there are other offences to be taken into account, I would imagine.
