I can 100 percent confirm that within the first 2 months of the new year , Argos in gaolgate place will be closing and be relocated to within Sainsbury's

All Argos shops will be closing and moving into Sainsbury's, now that Sainsbury's have bought up Argos

I don't believe that's strictly true, but close....

In the next year or so every Sainsburys will likely have a version of Argos in some form in their store...

I can't see them closing all Argos stores to be honest, especially in areas where there isn't a Sainsburys.

Could be space issues assuming Sainsbugs are already utilising all of their currently available storage and display areas.

I cant personally imagine how on earth they would fit Argos into Sainsbury's. A shop counter, yes. But where on earth would they fit the stock?

Edit: Maybe we'll be seeing a constant flow of argos uniforms running back and forward across the traffic lights while they go to fetch items :D

Husband thinks that the Argos's will close & Argos will become an online click & collect with collection from Sainsburys .....but who knows....

Argos had talked about moving to that model before they were sold, so that would make sense.

Even with click and collect, they still need somewhere to keep the stock within the Sainsbury's store.

Unless of course....

Sainsbury's are moving into the 'Morrisons' development and Argos are moving in with them.

Apparently they've solved the space problem at Sainsburys with this new storage facility.

Argos stores with leases that are coming to an end will not renewed. These are the stores that move into Sainsbury's stores.

Argos have been trailing in Sainsbury's for some time, before the buy out happened.

Let's hope that customers won't have to queue for Argos in Sainsbury's for as long as they have to for the checkouts.

If I remember correctly from my time as a evening replenishment assistant in that Sainsbury's there's plenty of storage space in the warehouse - and most Argos's only keep 1 or 2 of each item in at any one time. I wonder if it will replace the Tu Homewear & toys aspect of the shop?

It would make sense to put the argos counter at the back where the bath stuff is now if that's the case.

A 101% reliable source let it slip that the new Argoinburys will be a floating facility moored to the Western Excess road, increasing costs by a further £30m."Our research shows that customers will not be inconvenienced by compulsory flipper use," said a spokesman.

PS. Make that £31m.
PPS. OK, £32m
