    ** Please don't be put off - it's not all airy fairy b****cks **

I wanted to let you all know about a yoga class in Stafford that's not one of your usual leisure centre ones. It's Ashtanga yoga so there's a lot of jumping around which is great for aerobic fitness but also fantastic for strength and flexibility. I'm trying to encourage as many people to come as I can because I think it's brilliant but I know it's not for everyone!

Don't be put off by the fact that it's yoga - it's really the best exercise I've ever done. I've been going for 2 years now and it's done me no end of good.

It's at half 7 at oddfellows hall on the high street.

i did a few months worth of yoga classes here in sheffield- im not sure what type, but it was slow and sedate, definitely no jumping about.

it was amazing how quickly i was able to contort my body in ways i hadnt been able to do since school when i was dancing....although if im honest the relaxation bit at the end was the best. more than a few times i definitely nodded off, i just hope i didnt snore! lol

id definitely be interested in this, but as i say, im not in stafford :(

    Yoga for exiles.

Oh dear, I've just read it and it includes the 'Mysore Method' and 'Morning Practice' - let's just hope that basil doesn't see this...

Is it ok for newbies? Me and my mom fancy doing some yoga but (mom espesh) need a gentle intro. Plus, is it in a course style i.e. 6 weeks at a time, or is it come any time sort of deal?

If you want something gentle I'd recommend the class before at 6.30pm which is hatha yoga and without all the jumping around!

It's not really in any sort of course style, you can just drop in and out as you wish. I think the hatha class is £6.50 - and possibly there's some kind of discount if you pay for 10 at a time.

I think that might be a bit too early for us both to make it, but I might look into it on my own, thanks :)
