As you can see from the date of the first post this is now one year on. As I know the Mum and Daughter involved in this accident thought I'd let you know how they are doing one year on....Things were critical for a very long time but fast forward twelve months and progress has been made, Katherine (the young girl) has recently started back to school only managing half days due to her months spent in intensive care and now speech therapy, she has amazed me as to how quickly she has improved, but she walks slowly and her speech and memory are very poor. Becky (Mum) still to this day wears a big ugly metal brace on her leg, walks with pain and it'll be another six months at least before the brace is removed. They are super determined to get back to normal, though knows things will never be the same again. They spent last Christmas in intensive care and with the anniversary dawning Becky feels like she's grieving a death...
The legal side of it is, the driver has never been charged due to a street light being out so therefore lighting was poor, he probably doesn't even know what his actions have caused, a child knocked so badly she will never be the same again and a Mother who will feel forever guilty.
Keep safe and drive even safer.
