The aim of our Good Neighbour scheme is to involve people within the local community to offer practical support to resident neighbours, who through age or disability may feel isolated.

Our Good Neighbour Scheme will introduce people by creating connections of support, and share people’s skills and abilities. A volunteer of the scheme could offer as much or as little time they can give to offer practical help such as help with shopping, befriending, transport to medical appointments, etc.

If you live in the Berkswich area and wish to help, or know of someone who would appreciate some help, then please call us.

Berkswich Good Neighbour Scheme

The aim of the Good Neighbour Scheme is to involve Berkswich people in supporting local people who, through age or disability, may feel isolated or struggle in their day to day living with tasks and activities and/or in getting help.

If you, a family member or neighbour would like to ask about getting help, or if you are interested in volunteering to help neighbours and/or in running the scheme please contact us.

During National Volunteers Week, which starts on Monday 2nd June, information on the Berkswich Good Neighbour Scheme will be available at Baswich Library, Lynton Avenue, Stafford.
The library is open –
Monday: 2.00pm - 7.00pm;
Tuesday: Closed;
Wednesday: 9.00am - 5.00pm;
Thursday: 2.00pm - 7.00pm;
Friday: 9.00am - 5.00pm
Saturday: 9.00am - 4.00pm

On Thursday 5th from 2 til 7pm and Friday 6th from 10 until 2.30, a representative from the scheme will be there to give information and explain how you could make your community an even better place to live by volunteering for the scheme!

Find out how you could help the more vulnerable and isolated members of your community through a range of simple tasks from giving a lift, to collecting some shopping, to popping in for a cuppa and a chat.

Those of you who feel you might benefit from receiving a bit of additional help or company are also invited to drop in and find out more about how the scheme may be able to help you.
