4000th post? Whatever, I'm nonchalant..
I've spent all day at work drawing pie charts. Now I can't stop thinking about pies...

I took the liberty of "pimping" your avatar. I think you'll agree it looks much more a-pie-ling with a transparent background ;)

Ginsters are filthy. The pastry is like dry, dead foot skin. Imagine a frost-bitten foot, amputated and reheated. That's your Ginsters right there. Yeah, I said it. Bring it on.

A girl I went to uni with came from Cornwall and used to work in the Ginsters factory during school holidays.

From what she said, you're not far wide of the mark.

Monquey...have you had a Ginsters of late? As you will see in posts from both myself and noir, many people have obviously had problem pies from Ginsters in the past(y), but it seems that this bad press has made them improve the quality. I'd recommend you try one again, and get back to me. When you and yer missus come to stay next week i'm going to feed you solely on Ginsters, so you best get used to 'em!

I wonder if any of you, like myself, are proud owners of a truly brilliant invention - the Breville "Pie Magic". Just get some pastry, roll it as thick or thin as you like and chop your bases and lids out with the cutters provided. Plug your "Pie Magic" in to an everyday household electricity socket and wait for the light to go on, then you are away! The choice of filling is literally your own!

It seems that the product is not currently being produced, however there are motions afoot to get this situation remedied -

If you fancy it you could always get a used one off tinternet -

Alternatively get one shipped halfway across the globe - our Ozzie cousins are clearly keen on their pies!

Yummy!

And, btw, Ginsters is based about three miles from where my folks live, and the gag is that NOBODY in Cornwall would ever eat one because there are always real Cornish pasties everywhere. I personally recommend "The Pasty Stop Bakery". 01579 383044. 3a Church Street, Callington, PL17 7RE. I could be tempted to take orders next time I am headed that way, their prices are very reasonable, too.

The only thing wrong about a pie magic is that you get all this stuff together to make a nice pile of pies, and you think that you are going to have some left over to freeze for later in the week or whatever, but you just end up eating the blimmin lot cos they're so flippin tasty!

Sofa so good me hearties....but what do they actually taste like? With many of these 'buy this thing to make you fatter more easily' gizmos, the product is actually very sub-standard. I'd be happy to volunteer my services to be the official StaffordForum pie taster...

Perhaps an annual Forum Pie Day should be on the agenda, with both produce from established manufacturers and the home made variety. I'm sure Wright's would sponsor it!
