Is there any such thing as a good estate agent.....!!!

When I flogged my house last time I just went on which ones seemed to sell the most houses in my area, had 3 of them in, then picked the one that was least rip off.

Who did you go with?

It wasn't an agent in Stafford as I didn't live here before!

Some of them are very sneaky with pricing. One I went with was a flat fee so quite straightforward. Another agent charged a % of the final selling price, but the third charged a % of the price that they first put it on the market at (so no incentive for them to over-value then....). As it happened the flat fee bunch seemed to sell the most houses in the locality. I reckon I saved the best part of a thousand notes going with the flat fee one I did rather than the ones charging commission.

Certainly not Bridgefords, they advertise on t'internet but not very often in local rag. I had mine on for sale with them for only 1 week and they wanted me to lower the price. If you complain to how they deal with things they cry, really.

D B Roberts, Didn't give the best price but offered no false promises. Nicholsons, cocky git but I think okay. We were greedy and went with Bridgefords, long story but don't go there. I am now looking for somebody to rent to now as we took so long the house prices dropped to far for our liking so if you know of anyone who would like to rent a 3 bed house on Tithe Barn Rd let me know.

Estates agents are (mostly) all fockers.... admittedly I have never experienced selling through one but have bought before and D. B Roberts and Bridgefords (Evans & Evans at the time?!?!) both constantly lied to us and messed us around.

John German, sold both our houses, a terrace, and a newish one, in less than a fortnight. Plus, they didn't give me all that estate agent talk. They came, valued the house, printed out the details, sold it and did what had to be done.

Listed with Clothier & Day.

Local people, lower percentage, honest about what they are doing and very helpful. We have had a viewing almost every single week since we have been listed there.

Only ever dealt with one, for buying, and that was Reeds and Rains. Couldn't fault them TBH, especially with all the hassle I had. They badgered the vendors sol for me cos they were a pain in the arse!

Possible move in the offing, trawled a few estate agents over the past week and they all have the same old sales patter. However Reeds Rains in Mill Street have the highest phwoar! rating so far.....
