Maybe Joe Bonamassa - Black rock...... Fantastic blues/rock artist. There is a new Black Label Society album out soon... that is bound to be good.

Graham Wright
GDW Guitars - Handmade guitars, repairs and upgrades.

It has belatedly come to my attention that there is a new Bonobo album out.

Only just getting teeth into but will qualify for thread title inevitably.

If you've never heard Bonobo's music you're wrong, you have - you just didn't know so. Days To Come has been heavily used by tv 'n' advertisers.

Reckon this one will also.

2010 has been an excellent year for music so far. Let's hope it continues.

Well my vote goes to John Grant - Queen of Denmark. Association with Midlake gives it 1 1/2 votes.

But from the two above ^^ the award goes to Arcade Fire, being the only band to receive two votes, a worthy winner.

Subject to independent verification, of course.

Is that a Moomin?
I've just noticed Withnails use of my award- that will be a squillion pounds please in royalties.

I like the Plan B album "The Defamation of Strickland Banks".

aside from the self titled debut album by the lines (which i evidently do not have a vested interest in plugging) i would reccomend 'blood and fire' by the eighties matchbox b-line disaster. apart from that last year was a bit thin on the ground for decent music (of the suggestions so far i prefer plan b's first album to his second, i'll happily punch alex from two door when i next see him, but the xx, i am kloot and crystal castles are not bad shouts)

this year should be more interesting as i think quite a few of the 'bigger' bands are due to have releases (kaiser cheifs and kasabian to name two), coupled with the resurgence of guitar music (you may not like any of these but you'll be hearing a lot from brother, mona, the vaccines, etc)

Has anyone heard REMs new album yet? I heard a new track played on radio 2 and really liked it, although it sounds just like everything else they've made :D

On the contrary I thought that 2010 was a very good year for guitar music, particularly alternative rock and indie. Am not really a fan of the bigger bands but each to their own. I prefer to look further afield. Have seen Kasabian live at festivals and been impressed but am not a huge fan of their studio albums. 2011 has started off well so far with the rather excellent Chapel Club album "Palace".
