i have subscribed to bizarre for as long as i can remember.. i first remember picking it up whilst waiting for a train to crewe whilst doing work experience at school, so that's a fair few years ago, to say the least!

over the years, a few staffordians have featured.. this post, for example (alas, the picture it links to is long since lost in the ether).. but check out this month's star letter:

cue several people saying "oh yeah, ol' stanners - i've known him for years!", etc..

edit: funnily enough, i don't know the lad, but i see him almost every day when driving to/from work..

One can only assume he'll be clothed.

T'would be a brave man indeed to brave a November eve dressed only in a gee-tar.

If i recall rightly several forumites were there.

They spent most of their time outdoors chewing the fat, and i can vouch for the fact that one of them at least heard not a note played.

Ah, good old Bizzare. First one I had was the cannibal nuns, think it was issue 7, and I was an avid reader until about 3 years later when they started running out of bizarre things to write about. This was about the time they introduced the sealed porn ads section, and most of the magazine just seemed to be to show off tattoed womens tits. Not that I had any problem with this, but pictures of norks are free on the internet so why pay?

As for Martin, I've known him years! Met him in Wales in 2004 IIRC, although I was very drunk. He was living with one of my mates for a while too.

that only survived for a couple of months before it was ditched.. it has definitely gone down more of a "glamour" route in the last few years, but i think it reached a point where they realised they had just become an "alternative" version of Nuts so had a re-think.. there are still plenty of tits in it now, but there is also plenty of bizzar-o-ness!

It's quite sad that almost every magazine these days has 6-8 pages at the back for smutty phonelines. What a waste of paper and money.

Christ I haven't read an E&M in 20 years, wasn't it cars then properties then business ideas/junk or something?

I wouldn't mind those ads so much if they at least changed the pics, but some of those pics are older than I am.

In its heyday E&M was a marvellous publication - you could get almost anything in there - almost like a pre-internet eBay..

And in the olden days you had catalogues and you got your postal order and bought stuff and then it got delivered just like the internet, but quicker - mad!
