BT Vision

We cant get cable where we are, our estate was built after they cabled Stafford, so its Sky or Freeview for us. Just had a call from BT offering us a free HD box, free delivery, free set up (you have to do it yourself!) and its really cheap compared to Sky.

Has anyone got it? Is it any good?

i haven't personally used BT's offering, but from a technical point of view i just don't see how current networks are up to offering decent IPTV (i.e. TV over the internet, which is the crux of BT Vision)..

i have had sky for years (after years of struggling with ntl/telewest) and personally don't think it can be beaten in terms of TV service.. the fact that they will then give you a decent 2mbps internet connection on top of that for free is a no-brainer, imo..

do you get Sky1 with BT Vision? i know they fell out with Virgin; dunno about the others.. for me, that's a deal breaker, because half the stuff i watch is on sky (lost, prison break, new simpsons, etc.)..

edit: and if you call sky and tell them what you have put in your post, i bet they'll give you an HD box for free you lucky scamp :crossarms:

Already got an HD box from Sky, that cost a fortune. I don't think you get any Sky channels which could be the deal breaker with us too. Don't watch a lot of TV but when we do it seems to be on Sky 1 or Sky sports. We rang Sky recently to cancel because it was costing so much and we ended up with a special deal from them so i doubt they will offer us anything else!
