Most caravanner's don't use transit vans to tow with, so be careful or you might get your drive tarmacked against your will.

is this actual information, or more marwood misdirection?

latest reports say a police chopper is now hovering over the area!

It happens most years on that car park....if you look at the low wooden fencing you can see where they've butchered it to get the larger vehicles on.

As far as I know there have never been any problems directly associated to them being there...still definitely worth keeping an eye on...and your house properly secured!

....... surely the five-0 can do them with criminal damage (?) if they've wrecked the barriers over there to get their caravans on... or will it be a case of "was like that when we got here".....

At least if they are moving on tomorrow (hope that is true Mr Marwood...) then someone will have a job of cleaning up their rubbish tomorrow..... (@ Andreas rex - any time they have stayed more than a night, they have always tended to leave mounds of rubbish and bags full of (human?) shi*e.

Unfortunately, historically, they stay for a good week or 2. Just gonna have to stay on your guard I'm afraid.

Exactly that, unless a witness has seen someone comitting the criminal damage and will give a statement to that effect.

All I can say is he must have a good job to be able to afford £30,000+ worth of car....
This I don't understand. Cutting down trees, selling pegs, tarmacking and not paying tax can surely not give you enough cash to buy the nice motors they drive around in. Always paying cash I'm told.

I suppose who and where the car is "obtained" from will influence the price. Might be worth posting the reg numbers so someone could look them up (tax, insurance and so on).

They probably don't pay income tax, insurance, council tax, water or much else.

We're sitting ducks in houses, we get stung for money for all sorts because we can't just up anchor and move.

if I broke down a fence and put my car / caravan or tent on land like that... the police would drag me off in minutes.....

nail on the head gilesjuk....

I think VED and fuel tax is about the only one we could say they do pay....

Pees me off, if I broke down a fence and put my car / caravan (as if) or tent on land like that... the police would drag me off in minutes.....

And where they are, they have no water supply so hate to think where that is coming from, no sewage links so I think we can guess where toilet emptying goes....
A good caravan has a water tank and electric lights. My neighbours have caravans and I see them filling them up and charging them.
