Card cloning cash machine on Stone Road!

now, i never normally post/forward on all those "IF SOMEONE CALLS YOUR MOBILE AND ASKS YOU TO PRESS#90 DON'T DO IT OR YOUR BALLS WILL FALL OFF!!!!!1" style e-mails, but this one has come to me from a community safety officer for stafford county council, so if it is bogus i'll be surprised..

At a meeting I have attended this afternoon in Stafford it was brought to our attention that the cash point on the Stone Road by the Co-op is being used fraudulently i.e. card cloned.

A member of the meeting has experienced this first hand. He has been notified by his bank this week that transactions have been made on his account in Russia. The police said that as well as taking the card details there is also a pin hole camera on these machines that captures the pin number as you type it in therefore advice is that you should always cover the key pad when you type your pin number in to any cash machine.

Where the hell is the camera located? Seems very weird to me, although a mate had his card cloned at Asda in Stafford not too long ago so entirely possible.

it will be a tiny pin-hole somewhere within the housing, probably on the right hand side so they can see which buttons are being pressed.. seen it on crimewatch a couple of times - very clever.. if they can install card-reading hardware without arousing suspicion, i'm sure they can do the same with a little camera, those ingenious commies!

what an odd location....normally all there is hanging round that co-op is a bunch of scruffy chavs.

i should know- i used to live next door!

Why could I have not read this thread before I nipped to the cash point.
I hope I dont get ripped off.
Surely if it's common knowledge that this cash machine is dodgy wouldn't someone have done somthing about it?

Did anyone not see the Real hustle? The did a card cloning thing based in a restaurant, where she had the cloner strapped to her leg! They can do anything! nowhere is safe, buy gold and keep it under your bed.......

Is there a date available for when this started and has it been fixed? I've been using this machine for some time now and rarely (foolishly)
ever check my statements....
