Went for the carvery with a friend this lunchtime...blinkin' lovely!

The only 2 comments (other than the above) are that my heavily-preggers friend paid an extra pound for a large carvery; however, I got more than her. Most importantly, though...there was NO HORSERADISH SAUCE ON THE PREMISES!

Fundamental error, but the chap said they'd get some in.

Highly recommended generally though...will be there again. And again.

In Ireland someone would have dashed out to the supermarket as the waitress charmed you and 'seconds' later you would have been Amor Acia

When i worked at The Imperial in Walsall during it's dinosaur era, if we ran out we would contrary to hq's instructions make a dash to tesco for supplies.
I would love to go in for lunch but if i've got mr picky with me (hubby) i don't stand a chance. Had fish and chipps from the chippy by spoons today, maybe it was the lack of ketchup but they were not nice :(. Ended up on a bench in St Mary's looking at chambers and dreaming with my nasty lunch..

The question is where is the nearest supplier of horseraddish to Chambers. Poundland? Fruit and veg shop in Mill St? Lewis Partnership Deli? Borrow some from the Water Mill ?

Took the parents and sister today for the carvery lunch and have to say it was fantastic. 3 types of meat on offer, Beef, Pork and Gammon and each was excellent. That along with the crackin roast tatties and the lovely cauli cheese made for a lovely meal. Also a good selection of real ale on so was muchly pleased. I shall definetly be visiting again soon and recommend that everyone else does too. Next time i shall skip breakfast though because i am stuffed.

I went to the Carvery at Chambers today and had the Pork, Cauliflower Cheese, Carrots and Peas. It was excellent, well cooked and the Pork was really tasty. There was more than enough to eat and I have to say the crackling was superb. For £6 and no meal to cook tonight it was great. I would recommend that you give it a try, I will certainly be back.

On the off chance i could drag mr picky in would there be any chance of getting parsely sauce with the gammon? No one seems to do it and i just couldn't stomach gammon and gravy *shudder.

In Stychfields canteen they used to do Gammon with a Peach Cap - we used to call it Gammon with a Dutch Cap - it seemed somehow slightly less appetising...
