The Queens & Hough retail parks were heaving yesterday in spite of the impact of the roadworks. Rugeley was reasonably busy today, Lichfield was busy on Sunday. Telford was busy last Saturday. So why isn't central Stafford?
Perhaps we have a better internet connection
2 new permanent shops get their keys in the guildhall tomorrow wonder what they will be?
I've heard rumours of an upmarket clothing shop.
For me personally I rarely go into Stafford to shop. I just don't like the shops, if I want clothes queensville is easy to get to (I live that side of town) free parking and a better variety of shops, matalan, ASDA living, next, new look. Then if its presents your after b & m is great as well as the other shops. I think Stafford needs something, especially when the new shops come to make people want to walk to the center. I've always said to my oh Stafford strikes me as a town that should be full of independent shops but instead its full of charity shops and as for the parking prices, just way too high, that doesn't help. The Queens & Hough retail parks were heaving yesterday in spite of the impact of the roadworks. I'm just going to say it... I quite like our town centre.
Any news on who these might be yet? Do you know which units they are taking? It's great news for the Guildhall.
So do I, it's just that I seldom buy anything except food there, if you can call Sainsbugs, ASDA & Lidl town centre.I'm just going to say it... I quite like our town centre.
I thought Stafford was busy actually, even in Starbucks they mentioned they had took over 3k Saturday. That's alot of hot drinks
Parking, every Monday we come into Stafford, .mainley to go to Marks and to get something to eat, as I,have said in another thread we park at North Walls. Every time we come into Stafford there is less places to park, the contracters building the new supermarket have takern all the spaces at the bottom behind the Queensway, we ended up parking in Sainsburys which is quite a way when you have mobility issues. I emailed the council last time but they replied saying more or less what I thought the cat park belongs to the supermarket now.The Queens & Hough retail parks were heaving yesterday in spite of the impact of the roadworks. All being well but this store could still end up being empty like the one they build in Cheltenham
When you come into town you do notice how quite it is, the cafe's are also quiter than they used yo be.
The last half a dozen times I've been into town both the Wilko and Guild Hall I've had to Que to park
D Code looks like a 'Carbon' * copy of the rubbish clothes shop opposite & the woman's dress shop looks like a downmarket but more glittery 'Roman'....I thought it would be better than that... Good to see lots of people in your shop though @Stafford independent shop .They are both clothes shops.
The old phones 4 u unit is a cheap clothes shop for ladies by the looks of it, and the old snap unit in the very centre of the Guildhall is called D Code, which is high street fashion at affordable prices,,, maybe menswear. They have spent a bit doing it up, so I would say it's a more permanent fixture.

*Did you see what I did there? Did you? Did you?
In fairness to Britain, this also applies to just about every other 'developed' economy.
Still I'm sure the Dear Leader will have something to say about that when/if he gets elected next week.
