Cheap Land for Sale in Stafford

I noticed while 'Dream searching' on Rightmove there is an auction going on for several small pieces of land in Parkside and around the North end of Stafford.
They seem to be strips of land that ordinarily would be council owned but were not passed over to the council under a section 22? This was explained to me by the auctioneer over the phone.
I would guess at the price of the land, from £750 - 1500 that there will be some restrictions on house building etc. also there are several protected trees i noticed when I went to have a gander at on of them.
They are definitely managed by the council at the moment by the looks, but what concerns me slightly is that some, plainly are intended for public use amenity land.
I wonder If anyone in the council is aware of this??
I will now attempt to include some links.....

I'd be very interested to find out what is going on here! And I'm sure so would those folks with property that ajoins or overlooks this land!

Only clicked on a few, but yeah they look like green spaces in the middle of housing estates. At those prices I'd assume no building rights, so who would want them?

Potentially great news for someone. Building your own home is a much more cost effective way to get the property that you want than paying a blood sucking housing corporation. That way (subject to planning of course) you can get the design that you want and create something that perhaps isn't just an identi-kit Bovis box. We need more small scale and individual developments. Of course residents who already live in the areas will probably protest as where else can they take their dog to have a s&*t?

Can't see land big enough to build a home on selling for £2k, more like 30x that!

I haven't studied all of the individual chunks of land on the links and assessed suitability for housing with regards to dimensions to be honest - it was just a more general comment that if parcels of land are available that people can build on then that isn't necessarily a bad thing

It'd be great if there were, but most land is already held by people waiting for it to be granted planning permission. Us normal folk don't stand a chance.

Would be a good chance to increase the size of your garden if any of them were next to your property.

Whether that would be worth the wonga involved i know not.

The plans are a bit too small to see any detail, but a few of them look alright sized. If they are bordered by a path though they are useless aren't they, as you couldn't build a fence around them to extend your own plot?
