I've done 400 in doxey in one hit today, on my own, which took me 2 solid hours. This was the Conway road / Fern drive estate. Bear in mind there aren't any massive front gardens and hardly any gates, plus alot of doors are next to eachother etc. This is what kills me....
... Based on that being quite an average estate, that's 200 leaflets PER HOUR. 1,000 therefore takes about 5 hours work so you're already down to below minimum wage. Add other companies leaflets and you then bump that up again, but in turn slow yourself down due to the extra hassle / weight etc. Its why I gave it up.
Now, what I wonder is HOW exactly do leaflet distribution companies quote around £30 per 1,000. By the time they've paid the poor sods that do the graft, surely there can't be much left in it for themselves for organizing it all??
ANYWAYS... back to my original path of thought now. My new business idea for which I posted 400 leaflets today generated me 5 calls before the day was out. 2 turned into "no goes", 2 are being dealt with next week so I've yet to see if they materialize, and one is looking to have turned into about a £40 repair job despite that not being the service advertised. They say hit ratio's these days should be expected to be 1 in 1000 for most businesses - so I'm extremely impressed with my 1 in 100 on the day of distribution alone. I will definitely want some delivering in the near future and i've got an order in with my printers as we speak. Only small A6 ones, so easy to manage. I'll possibly only book in for 1000 initially and see what prevails but I'll contact you when I am good to go if that's okay? I won't mind where they're delivered so you can just chuck them in with wherever you are up to at the time.
Sorry for the lengthy post!!
