Heard about this yesterday, but just found this news article:

Shortly after 3.00 am on Monday attempted cigarette theft.

I imagine there's a few pubs and working mens clubs where they demand such stolen goods though. Anything to afford a few more ciggies eh? but not realising that someone's life may be endangered to steal them.

Skimmed it, I thought it was 3pm. That explains a lot then.

They had the cigarette/liquer counter roped off when I went in on Monday morning, doing an audit to see how much had been taken.
