In 2006 I used Liz Delf at what is now Grundy Delf, on the opposite corner to The Soup Kitchen. She was excellent. This was a recommendation from a friend who had used their services a year or so before, and since I bought my house I've recommended Grundy Delf to at least 2 friends who have also been extremely happy with everything.

Liz Delf is now at Mark Redler & Co. We exchanged contracts today.

Just a bump, any further recommendations? Any guide on prices for these, I'm still getting my head around this 'house world'.

We're using Frisby. The solicitors fee, excluding searches etc., is 510 for a purchase just under 300k

Do you exclude searches because you're doing them, or someone else, or just for comparison?

Mostly because the solicitor excludes them for comparison. Searches are 240, and Land Registry fee is 270. Then you normally have to pay 30 or so for them to transfer the money.

May I ask why Frisby? Price competitive or recommendation?

Recommendation from my father. I do wonder if he had a good experience because he works almost next door and could pop in though, we're not far from the agreeing contracts stage though so I shall reserve judgement til next week.
