That "some children are actually in danger at home and some children only get fed properly when they are at school" just makes me question what this country's coming to - sadly times very different from when I attended schools long ago.
Times haven't changed, This has always been the case. For some kids it may be the only hot meal they get all day, sometimes due to both parents having to work, they may get free school meals, due to lack of money/personal circumstances. Myself and 2 sisters received free school meals, and I can promise you, we were really glad of that fact.
Under lockdown, families have been forced to spend a lot more time together, for some children, school is a safe haven, Teachers are more likely to notice bruises, unkempt appearances, in other words - child abuse. Under lockdown, this will and is going unnoticed.
You have made your opinions perfectly clear, Pubs all the way. Member of CAMRA are we?
It's a well known fact, Dad goes the pub, spends the housekeeping, gets pissed, comes home and gives the wife and kiddies a good beating.
