Scots get a 'jag'.Also ,I didn't realise how British an expression "getting the jab" is until I asked a European friend if they were and they had no clue what I was talking about!
I was working on a site in Scotland years ago & overheard someone talking about another worker who was 'jagging' himself. I was about to report him as a heroin addict when luckily someone clarified that he was actually diabetic!.Scots get a 'jag'.
As far as Scottish slang goes I always liked 'scratcher' (bed) & 'coup' (tip/dump).Scots get a 'jag'.
It's chaos in many countries on the continent at the moment. The French have been prioritising union members rather than those at genuine risk of death (there is an election due next year) and official political advice now is that your second jab doesn't have to be the same as your first.Hubbys factory in Germany are offering their employees a Covid Vaccination free of charge, including temporary workers, at the companys cost. Not waiting for their government to get around to it , they want it done quicker. Looks like over there if you can afford to pay for it you get it done quicker.

"A comparison of Bolton’s case numbers (where B.1.617.2 has high prevalence). Startling difference between the predominantly vaccinated over 45 year olds and the predominantly unvaccinated younger generations. #VaccinesProtect"

I can see this ending in tiers
I think it might speed up a bit now, the logistics have probably been a little harder the last few weeks having the switch to Pfizer in places that haven't previously used it.
And yet we’re sitting on a stockpile of several million vaccines. :/
I do wonder if once groups 1-9 are done with their second jab it would be better to just get the under 40s a first jab and hold off on the second until first doses are done. It would speed things up quite a bit and that’s the age bracket that will be causing the most spread.
65-70% protection for the entire under 40 population is better than 95-100% protection for half of them.
I’m sure the JCVI have looked into the viability of that though
Hopefully shipped to India, wouldn't be shocked if quietly binned though.I would like to know what is the plan for all the AZ vaccines that we wont be using now? As we have moved to the under 40s, I assume AZ will only be used for 2nd doses (myself included).
Vaccine supply should be improving now after the break in supply that was expected for about 4 weeks starting in mid May. That was partly the reason why they paused first jabs for under 45’s in favour of ensuring supplies for second jabs for those that were coming due.I think it might speed up a bit now, the logistics have probably been a little harder the last few weeks having the switch to Pfizer in places that haven't previously used it.
That's what most France and Germany seem to be doing. Straight in the bin, then complaining that they don't have enough.Hopefully shipped to India, wouldn't be shocked if quietly binned though.
