Went passed Couture this morning and while waiting at the crossing i saw one of their signs for their "themed nights"..........was quite shocked to see that one of the nights is called "pimps and ho's"!

Now, i am not that old, but seriously????

Am i the only one that thinks that's actually quite disgusting?

It's a theme party, not a brothel :P No different to vicar and tarts parties. Actually some members on here will remember the porn star party. Actually not sure why i'm bringing that up, I didn't fare too well.

Depends, think about their target audience and it works quite well. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, tis the worlds oldest profession. Besides, its not like many of the women can wear any less without breaking decency laws.

Is it just a modernisation of the old 'Vicars and Tarts' fancy dress theme - that used to be quite popular years ago..

Oh popular culture, how we worship at your feet. I don't like it much either Dawn, but as a general rule people don't tend to think these thing through when it's a chance to get dressed up.

Wow you think exactly like I do when it comes to popular culture.

I must admit though, I have no problem with fancy dress as long as it's not ridiculously offensive, it's a bit of fun that's all.

Can't see it causes any harm. But if the seedlings said they were going! Mind you i don't think they'd get in, not like the Grot, I think you have to show ID, and the lads are 9,14&17! :cops:

It's embarrassingly stupid and childish. Your concerns are well founded.

I'd find it hard to explain to a 5-9 year old what a Pimp or Ho was - and I can say with absolute certainty mine would ask if the sign was clocked if we were walking passed it.

I tend to think this sort of thing is targetted at people without humour - the sort of guffawing slobbering thicko Moyles fans that increasingly infuse British Culture.

Remember that Alan Partridge chat show when he introduced his Co Hostess as "Not a Whore" ?

God I laughed - "I nearly soiled myself".

Don't get me wrong...im all for people having fun and dressing up, its more the choice of words that bother me and the fact that they seem to have become to norm in todays society.

Maybe im just being a fuddy duddy......its nice to hear other peoples opinions though even if they are different to mine.

Mine are not-

I'm ranting a bit but realise I have absolutely no idea what 'Coutoure' is! Nightclub presumably.

definitely not fuddy duddy, I have to admit I went to a party like this once, but I don't think I'd be pleased to be invited to one again.
